Jewelry replicas are often made from real metal and can look perfect in photos. The tells are in the engravings, hallmarks and finishing.

Paperwork isn't proof

Boxes, receipts and certificates are faked too. Boaz judges the piece itself and treats paperwork as supporting evidence only.

    Font, depth and placement of the brand engraving and serial number, and whether the format fits the model and era.

  2. Hallmarks and metal stamps

    Purity marks such as 750 or Au750 and maker's marks, including where they sit and how cleanly they're struck.

Which photos do I need for jewelry?

Sharp close-ups of every engraving, serial number and hallmark, the clasp or screws, the stone settings, and the full piece from several angles. Use natural light and a macro mode if your phone has one. The photo guide shows examples.

Do you test the metal or gemstones?

No. We authenticate from photos, so we judge the brand's craftsmanship, engravings and construction. We don't test metal purity or grade gemstones.

Is the box and certificate enough to prove it's real?

No. Boxes, receipts and certificates are commonly faked. They can support a verdict, but the piece itself decides it.

What if you can't give a confident verdict?

First we'll ask for more photos. If the verdict is still inconclusive, we explain why and refund your order in full.
